    UPMC Adult CF Center?

Hi everyone - I'm new to the forums, but I was just wondering if there's anyone here who goes to UPMC for their care. What is it like to be an inpatient there? Are the rooms set up for long-term admissions (place for a spouse to stay if you're from out of town, microwave on the floor, refrigerator on the floor, decent internet)? Is every doctor equally involved in your care? How long do your admissions tend to last? Any out-of-towners at UPMC? What meds are you usually on? What types of airway clearance do they have for inpatients? Do you like it there?

I've been seeing the same doctors my whole life, but they aren't able to see adult patients anymore and unfortunately, there are only two adult doctors at my large CF center. I've heard great things about UPMC in terms of patient outcomes, but I'm wondering what the environment is like. Any experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Hi I go to Pittsburgh but live in wv you will usually go to shady side hospital I'm going to be completely honest the outside of the hospital is kinda not the safest place but people r good all they deal with is cf people or people with copd so they know the routine could be newer kinda old place but doctors good and people good you usually don't go to upmc unless ur on transplant or really bad that place is super nice but anywhere in hospital sucks the rooms r small ur spouse will b uncomfortable the length of stay depends on how ur doing two three weeks they have the new airway clearance thing that blows back on u hard I like it a lot it helped me I'm actually going soon I'm not doin well so I need to go. U usually have the same doctor so that's good any other questions let me know it's older hospital but knowledgeable people
