So after trying for a long time to find a way to watch this documentary online, download it, w/e I finally found a way to watch it on the CBC website. As many of you probably know, the CBC website does not permit streaming videos to the U.S. The obvious ways around this would be by using a proxy or a VPN server. VPN costs a lot of money, and if you use web proxies it odesn't convert flash. But if you use an HTTP proxy directly in your settings it will work.

Steps:

1. Find a HTTP web proxy that is based in Canada. You want a transparant type with a low latency. The one I used was 216.46.129.159 on port 3128.

2. Go to your network settings (network preferences on a Mac) and configure your internet for a Web Proxy (HTTP) server with the aforementioned settings. The one I previously gave should work- otherwise look for the same type based in Canada- that is crucial.

Specific Builds:

Internet Explorer 6.0

On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options, click the Connections tab, and then click LAN Settings.

Under Proxy server, click to select the Use a proxy server for your LAN check box.

In the Address box, type the IP address of the proxy server.

In the Port box, type the port number that is used by the proxy server for client connections
You can click to select the Bypass proxy server for local addresses check box if you do not want the proxy server computer to be used when you connect to a computer on the local network (this may speed up performance)

Click OK to close the LAN Settings dialog box.

Click OK again to close the Internet Options dialog box.

Internet Explorer 5

Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Internet.

Click the Connections tab, click LAN Settings, and then click to select the Use Proxy Server check box.

In the Address box, type the appropriate proxy server information, and use the following format:
http://<address>

Click Advanced, and then type the appropriate proxy settings in the Servers area. Use the following syntax for the proxy settings:
http://<address>:<port>
where <address> is the Web address of the proxy server, and <port> is the port number that is assigned to the proxy server. For example, if the proxy server's address is "proxy.example.microsoft.com" and the port number is 80, the setting in the Proxy Server box should appear like this:

http://proxy.example.microsoft.com:80

Important: If you use a backslash (\) instead of a slash (/) in the proxy server's address, the settings disappear from the Proxy Server box and Internet Explorer does not find the proxy server.

If you are using the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your proxy server, make sure not to type leading zeros. For example, use 130.25.0.1 instead of 130.025.000.001.

Macintosh is easiest

Just click your Airport and "Open Network Preferences"

Click Advanced, then proxies, the check the "Web Proxy" box and enter there

3. Save settings and go to the website, it may be a little slow, but if the latency is low enough (as the one I mentioned was) your video should work perfectly.

4. Remember to remove the proxy afterwards because it makes internet browsing slower.

Note: The movie is 43 minutes and I thought the doc was supposed to be 70 minutes? Also buy the DVD when it is available to purchase, it is great. Since I have a Mac I haven't tested the Windows one- if you have any problems just tell me and I will try to help out.

THANK YOU for posting this!! I've been wanting to see Eva's documentary for so long, and have been waiting to hear from the creators when DVDs would be available for purchase.

haha . torrents require you to download using a bitorrent client such as Transmission, Vuze, or uTorrent.

If you mean the downloaded .avi file, I know quicktime and VLC support it
