Those of you who remember.....WinAce had posted the article in which Jess & he were featured when NC Medicaid refused to pay for his tx. All the links I found on the site so far are no longer good. I am assuming due to the age of the story.

I will try the archives of the tv station & newspapers themselves, but in the meantime does anyone happen to have working links?

Thanks in advance!

I'm on the specific newspaper's page and it can't be found. Must be too old, like you said. But here's two helpful hints:
1. It was the News and Observer in Raleigh, NC.
2. He was referred to by his first name in that article, so he was Richard Glenn.

Thanks guys. Everything I have of WinAces leads me to the links that are evidentally too old. I am trying to search archives of the newspaper & newstation themselves.

Maybe Jessica happens to have the article itself & can email to me. I need the original otherwise I would utilize the "stories" throughtout the threads etc.

JESS.....I WILL EMAIL YOU THIS REQUEST ALSO!

Hey Melissa,

None of my links work, either. I thought I had saved the actual paper from that day, but I can't find it. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> I may have lost it somehow when I moved... I don't know. I have the paper from the next day with an editorial about the article, but not the paper with the article itself.

I found a summary of it, though, at the News and Observer archives website. It looks like it would cost $2.95 to purchase the article. I'll do that if I can't find it anywhere else, and send you a copy. I'm sorry; I'm embarrassed that I don't have it.

The article was called "Transplant is his only hope to live" and was printed on September 9th, 2005.

PLEASE DONT GO OUT OF YOUR WAY......My husband was going to use it for his college course. We both agreed it would be a fantastic piece/issue to present both for the ethical reasons and to promote CF. I appreciate your thoughts & dont be embarrassed. Moving tends to make things disappear. Kind of like how the washing machine eats just 1 sock out of a pair of socks. HUGS!

would an electronic version be okay? i emailed someone at work to look it up in the archive. i can email it to you both.</end quote>

As long as it has the name of the newspaper on it as the source that would be fine. I do appreciate your help and from the sounds of it so will Jess.....

Mel, is it possible you could reprint it in a blog--I know those of us who were new, (I came here in April, 2006) and never got to know him, would appreciate it. I have only heard stories of this legend... Sounds like I missed another "great one"! Damn, if I had only come on here a year earlier, when I first found out about Kaylee...

anyone who wants a copy of the article, PM me your email. i don't want to PM the article itself b/c it's a big file and has a photo attached. if you want a hard copy, i may be able to arrange that.

For some reason, I can't seem to get the private message thingy to work. I've PM'd people in the past here, but I must be having a slow day.

Anyway, my email is [email protected] ... could you please send me the article? Thank you, Laura, for finding it.
