Hi Kelly..I was just reading your blog and I just wanted you and whomever else is interested to know that there is a company i Colorado that is having incredible results with inhaled compound to treat MAC and possibly m.abscessus. They are doing a study on it now....one woman who has been positve for six years for MAC was being follwed by the docs at NJH (leaders in the fight against this particular infection). They wanted to remove her lung (resection) which she declined and they began the cocktail of drugs.....she became so sick that she decided to try the compound and stopped the other drugs altogether. Within 120 days of inhaling, she has negative smears, culture and her cat scan is incredibly improved. The doctors at NJH who originally turned down working with the company are now meeting with them this month. (The head researcher at NJH tested he compound initially and found that while it killed the mycobacteria completely, it also killed macrophages (fighter white blood cells)...a no-no in the research world. Of course, the researcher was using a test for toxicity developed by those who test anti-biotics.....and as you know, many of the abs used to treat mycobacteria are so toxic many people can not take them at their therapeutic dosage.

I am in contact with the company and will be starting on the compound for abscessus in July....I was treated three years ago by richard Wallace and others but could only take the meds for 10 days before my body quit .....I lost 12 pounds in two weeks.

I just thought I would tell you about it if you come to a place where you feel like the normal treatment might not suit you. I only tell you this to encourage you...there is hope..

I also am in contact with a guy in the Netherlands who is inhaling the compound
(CF with abscessus) and while he has not been on it long enough to see a difference, he feels encouraged.....traditional meds were not working and he watched his pfts fall from 70's to 30's in one year......

About the compound, it is a silver solution, but is different from regular old silver...It is based on nano-technology delivering a silver molecule so small that enables it to pass through a mucoid membrane of mycobacteria or even pseudo. There is a lot of negative in regards to colloidal silver, but this is something new and very exciting. Google nanotechnology/silver....there was an article just last week in the Dallas Mornng News in Texas about how silver is resurfacing as an antibiotic, antifungal, and viruciadal....

I hope that I don't get a lot of hate mail by posting this...there are many who only believe in traditional meds....I love traditional meds, but sometimes you gotta give other stuff a chance. I did that with glutathione, curry, dha, anti-inflammatory diet (which is amazing by the way) oregano and watched my pfts climb even with a terrible mycobacteria.

You can email me at [email protected] if you want more info.

hope you port placement went well.
you are in my prayers.

Awesome news!

So they use nano particles of silver to fight the infection? Do you know if it kills any other bugs or just those ones?

I know they are usuing nano silver in many different new products now. They weave them into socks to kill bacteria, they have them in washing machines to get rid of odour in clothes. Pretty remarkable stuff.

I was always interested in colloidial silver, and tried it once when i was really sick. The thing is, most of the products aren't regulated, so you don't really know what you're getting. I really didn't feel like turning grey

Good stuff though. I'm interested to see where this goes in the next few years
