I came across under searching for enzymes this product that might help people with CF. Read and discuss with your doctor.

Bile Acid Factorstm
Enhances Digestion and Absorption of Fats and Fat Soluble Nutrients*

Dosage: 333 mg
Size: 90 Capsules
Category: Digesting Enzymes
Product Number: 24002
Product Code: BILE

Usage: Take 1 - 3 capsules with a meal containing fat, or as recommended by your qualified healthcare professional.

Bile Acid Factorstm consists of a mixture of highly concentrated bile acids (also called bile salts), mostly in the conjugated form, from the U.S. and/or New Zealand bovine/ovine bile.

. Bile acids are produced in the liver and then stored and concentrated in the gallbladder, from which they enter the small intestines via the bile duct.

. The major bile components in Bile Acid Factors are glycocholate and taurocholate, which are crucial for fat digestion and absorption.

. In the small intestine, bile acids emulsify fats to aid their absorption. Bile acid deficiency causes fat malabsorption and fatty stools (steatorrhea), indicated by diarrhea and floating stools. In addition, bile acid deficiency jeopardizes a person's nutritional status by reducing the absorption of fat and fat-soluble nutrients.*

. Conjugated bile acids have been shown in clinical trials to be effective in improving fat absorption and nutritional status.*

Aren't bile salts -- ursodiol or actigall -- normally prescribed for CFers?

I have no clue. I have heard that some do take these. My liver is fine. This came up in a search that I was doing and I thought it would help someone out there. I am not taking this product.

Today I did by the Jarrow Zymes and the price was great too.

I always had a happy liver all through the years free of CF symptoms. After this transplant, one of the anti-fungal drugs raised my liver enzymes. Now that I no longer take this drug, I am coming into the normal scores. I did notice my digestion of things looking kind of iffy.

I was doing a search on enzymes on the Jarrow site(it is a decent company) and found this particular supplement. I am sure someone out there would be interested. For me, I am laying low. Everything I take has to be weighed heavily.
for me, less is more
