Does laughter have a positive effect on the lungs of people with CF? While laughing today I was thinking "man, this probably knocking a bunch of crap loose!"

Just wondering other's thoughts on this.

So I would have to agree that yeah its prolly great for us to laugh, then again laughing benefits anyone it just has extra bonus for us.
Ive also felt singing is a positive thing for my lungs as well.

I think I posted this awhile back, though it is quite horrible, I flow like a water hose when I laugh, it pours out of me. My biggest fear is that one of these days I will be without a tissue in my hand, or my small dixie cup. Then watch out. Yes, I have dixie cups everywhere, in front of the TV in the bathroom of course, nightstand in bedroom, my handbag, my glove compartment of my car, my sister's car. The basement. The laundry room. A weird thing is my little neice down the block 4yrs old if I go into a coughing fit she runs to the cabinet and comes back with a small dixie cup. Which is great, but how will she ever explain if she is on a playdate and someone in the house has a bad cough, and she goes lookg for a cup?. But yes laughing works best. Better than the vest if you can bleive that?

I was thinking about how laughing makes me cough and I know this is a little off subject but does anyone else cough when they sneeze?

When I start laughing (a good belly laugh) I better be close to a bathroom or a tissue box. For me laughing is about like huffing... really moves stuff in my airways.

I believe singing would also have a positive effect, especially if you sing "The Laughing Song"

One thing that clicks between me and my wife is how I can make her laugh, and myself as well. Many of those incidents turned into unregrettable coughing fits, though.

So, I agree that laughter is even good medicine for the lungs.

Hi my husband has CF and I strugle with depression but my husband makes me laugh and that intern makes him laugh. It helps me with depression and theirfore I don't come down with colds and stuff when I am happy. So yes I do belive that laughter helps the lungs. If the mind is happy the body is happy.

I always cough when I clean my ears with Q-tips too. It's pretty annoying
