What can i do with it? I have had it for years but have hardly used it. I cant use it because of my hemoptysis problems. I have to avoid cpt on my upper left side which is impossible to do with the vest. Can i sell it? And if so how much should i ask for it? I would rather sell it than donate it so i can invest that money into my business. I figure it would be a fair sale because 2% of my business profits are donted to the foundation. If you have any ideas on how i could sell it let me know. Thanks in advance!

What kind of vest is it? If its the top part of the straps that velcro you could just unvelcro that shoulder and tuck it in. In fact I do this when I have my port accesses. You could also order one of the wrap vest instead of the shoulder vests.

First of all, make sure YOU own it and that it's yours to sell -- with insurance sometimes this is tricky, even if you've had the thing for a couple of years and no one's ever bothered you about it. Just check to make sure it is completely bought and paid for, etc.

If it is, ebay is an option (I've seen them on there before), but keep in mind that the Vest is a prescription device. Technically it's not supposed to be transferred to someone for whom it wasn't prescribed. Also, the vests on ebay (even newer models) tend to sell for pretty low amounts.

Personally, if I were interested in selling my vest I would contact my clinic and ask if there were any patients in need of a vest who were struggling with insurance issues or other red tape. Your doctor/nurse might be able to help make a match that works out as a deal for both of you, and of course you'll know it's a legal transfer to someone with a need for the machine. The other major upside is that your clinic can help sterilize the machine and you avoid shipping costs.

I would definitely start with your clinic and move from there.

I ended up donating my old Vest to someone who needed it because I was fortunate enough for insurance to completely cover it...plus it really was not going for all that much anyways.

My clinic did do all of the transferring and disinfecting.

Wow thanks for all the ideas. I will check with my clinic first. If they wont help i will try ebay.
But the prescription part has me worried about ebay. Im going to ask my dr about that. And you are all right, the shipping would be outragious! Lol

I'd give it away..The amount you could sell it for would be negligible.
