A few weeks ago I was told I was moving mucus plug (horrible back and chest pain). I did a un-lovely trip the ER and everything. They even did a CT scan. I was told I had a bunch of mucus plugs to work out.

The past few days I have been having pain when I breath deep and stretch my arms at the same time. It is like my lung is "catching" and once I am done with the deep breath the pain subsides. I had the same pain tonight-- only it last quite a while. Now my lungs feel a bit tight and sore.

Is this just more mucus plug moving?? If so, why are they so painful??

it could be plugging or it could be infection. have dh beat the area that hurts. huff cough. repeat until you move mucus in that area.

Sounds like what I would feel when I'd have an infection. I hope you have a CF doc & nurse & you're letting them know. In the meantime try to beat it out like loulou said.

Appears to have been just a plug-- coughed up some junk today. Feel so much better. I have been working on plugs since my tune up. Chest is much lighter since my morning treatment. Thank goodness for hypertonic saline.
