*sigh* well, I'm back in the hospital because I didn't do my treatments. I forgot how UNCOMFORTABLE hospitals are. And I remember I didn't like CHOC at all..but thats where I am!
So many annoyances!
First, Dr. Nickerson told us Tuesday that they didn't want to keep me out of highschool..that I'd only be in the hospital for a week and then go home with a PICC line and antibiotics. Today, Dr. Y comes in, always being the one to break the bad news and said I'd have to be in for a full two weeks. I knew it was too good to be true. And I can't have ANY non-family visitors because CHOC is so worried about the flu and they don't want patients to get it. So I am in here for two weeks with no in-person interaction besides doctors, nurses, and my mom. Oh joy!

Second annoyance...I have a freaking IV in my hand until I can get the PICC on Monday...It hurts! It's in my right hand and I am left handed, however, I do mostly everything else but write with my right hand. Right now I am typing this with both hands and its just so sore!

I'm worried about getting a PICC line because I am getting the drug Versed beforhand and I decided to google it, apperantly a lot of people think its a terrible drug. Great, just what I need. I did have it last time and it was fine, but I'm just a worrier.

They don't let you have access to their internet network like they did at UCSF. They also don't have a 'resource' room (that I'm aware of) that you can use computers. Sureee, I can get a laptop in my room, but half of the sites I go on are blocked. ALL blogs and social networking websites, so if I want to go on them I can only use my phone. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> Thats stressful in itself, because it makes it hard to keep in contact with the people that I don't call/text.

My PFT's are low. They are starting me with this Minnesota Protocol. Is anyone else doing this? It's where you start with around 8hz and 7pressure (atleast thats where they can me) then stop at 5 min, they go on again with higher settings, then stop and 5min, etc etc. (if that makes any sense)

I'm just so uncomfortable. I can't wait to be out of here already, but they just added another week to my sentence.
I'm sorry for such a long post, I'm just so over all of this.

great incentive to do meds like you're supposed to. hospitals suck. but you can have a big impact on whether or not you end up there...
